Welcome to the College and Career Page for Gene Tomas High School!

The College and Career Resources are here to support students and parents as they explore their options and plan for life after high school. Whether you're preparing for college, entering the workforce, joining the military, or exploring other pathways, our goal is to help you make informed decisions about your future.

Our College and Career Facilitator provides guidance and resources to help students with college research and applications, financial aid and scholarships, career exploration, resume building, interview preparation, and goal setting.

We encourage all students—no matter what grade you're in—to take advantage of the services offered. Planning for the future starts now, and we’re here to help every step of the way.

Students and parents are encouraged to make an appointment with the College and Career Facilitator to get started. Your journey to a successful future starts here!

  • The District shall excuse a student for up to two days during the student’s junior year and up to two days during the student’s senior year to visit an accredited institution of higher education provided the student receives approval from the campus principal, returns with a document certifying that the absence was to visit an accredited institution of higher education, and makes up any work missed.

Students MUST be passing all classes in order to use a College Visit Day.

Unused days do NOT roll over from Junior to Senior year.

  • Service Cord is a Volunteer Organization that requires students to provide time and energy to serve the surrounding communities. The program’s purpose is to teach students about responsibility, accountability, selflessness, showing appreciation, and giving to those in need.

Students interested in participating, and receiving a Service Cord upon graduation, will need to complete 160 hours of service time throughout their four years of high school (approximately 40 hours a year). Transfer students who are coming into LCISD will be responsible for the same number of yearly hours (40 hours per year) starting with the first year they are an LCISD student.

All hours must be logged into the district CCMR platform and verified by the supervisor and approved by the campus College and Career Facilitator.
