During the May Board Meeting, the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees officially approved attendance boundaries for Secondary Complex #8, which is scheduled to open for the 2027-2028 school year. The new complex will include Williams High School, Urbanski Junior High School, and Dresner Middle School, and is part of the district’s ongoing efforts to address rapid growth and ensure high-quality learning environments for all students.
Williams High School will open August 2027 and will serve students in grades 9 through 11. Students who will be seniors (12th grade) at the beginning of August 2027 and are currently zoned to attend the new campus will remain at Fulshear High School to complete their final year.
In addition, the Board of Trustees has approved the UIL Legacy Provision to support students currently engaged in extracurricular programs. This provision allows eligible students participating in athletics, performing and visual arts, and UIL academic competitions to remain at their current campus, provided they meet established criteria. Families who choose to utilize the UIL Legacy Provision will be responsible for providing transportation, and the provision does not extend to siblings.
Additional information regarding attendance zones, transition guidelines, and eligibility criteria for the UIL Legacy Provision will be made available on the Lamar CISD website and through campus communications in the near future.
